 We got a chance to explore an ancient city at its peak trough Google Earth! A 3D simulation of the ancient Rome is available as a new layer in Google Earth. The project, which was unveiled Wednesday, is the first ancient city to be incorporated into Google Earth and was developed in collaboration with researchers at the University of California at Los Angeles and the University of Virginia. In the Ancient Rome 3D layer we can fly into Rome as it looked in 320 A.D; tour the interior of famous buildings; visit the sites in 3D such as the Roman Forum, Colosseum and the Forum of Julius Caesar and learn about how the Romans lived. |
